The working group on vocational and business education with a focus on structural issues in vocational education led by Prof. Dr. Dietmar Frommberger
The research area was newly established by a foundation of DIHK and DIHK Weiterbildungs GmbH (press release) and will receive significant financial support from the donating organizations over a period of five years. The endowed professorship will continue as a full professorship after the endowment funds expire. It is fully integrated into university teaching and committee work.
The research is dedicated to basic and application-related questions of vocational and business education and vocational training research. One focus is on structural issues in vocational education and training. This includes regulatory and didactic aspects, for example, the analysis and further development of the vocational training system, curricular foundations, the training and further training of vocational training personnel, the examination system, etc. Special attention is paid to a systematic view of other European and non-European countries and thus to international comparison.
The team of Prof. Dr. Dietmar Frommberger is, together with the team of the specialist colleague Prof. Dr. Thomas Bals, responsible for teaching in the study courses of the subject area of vocational and business education, including vocational didactics. Vocational and business education aims at the educational science training of vocational education personnel, especially teachers at vocational schools. Currently, the following degree programs are offered:
